We currently design using 49mm whip antenna for our GPS trackers. What is the possibility going to a ceramic antenna will give us suitable performance and smaller product size?

I am aiming to get down to <40mm x ~12mm on 4 layer fr4.

Our Agosti antenna would work down to 40x15mm PCB size.

One further question, how is the antenna affected by being potted in epoxy? We do this to avoid water ingress to the tag.

Hi Bob,

Apologies for late reply, all epoxy will affect the antenna performance, so best to have plastic cover over the antenna to avoid direct contact with epoxy.
