Ground plane requirement for Montana ISM antenna
What are the ground plane requirements for the Montana ISM antenna? Is it essential to have a 4-layer board or will 2-layer with GND flood be sufficient?

Hi Mark,

There are no ground plane requirements as such for an FPC antenna as the ground of the cable effectively radiates. A 2 layer ideal PCBA is fine in principle, however in practice a 4 layer PCBA is usually better as it can guarantee one layer of solid ground which will also help to reduce noise.
