QUESTION

asked by
What if any matching circuit is needed with a Montana ISM antenna
I am investigating an SRF2I019 flexible antenna in coplanar orientation for an ISM base station design. The product specification calls for a blocking capacitor but does not mention a matching network. Is a matching circuit required and if so are there recommended component values (also for the blocking capacitor)?

Thanks,
Mark

Hi Mark,

In order to be effective, a matching circuit must be right up against the antenna. As this is an FPC with cable, any matching circuit implemented on the PCB would have little to no effect. The module manufacturer/supplier may specify the value of the DC blocking capacitor, but typically we recommend a high value such as 220pF.

Many Thanks
