Placement of M20047-1 on a PCB
I am planning to design a UAV GPS board using M20047-1. Due to the mechanical limitation of the UAV body shell, is it possible to place the GPS antenna on the bottom side of the PCB? with proper copper keep outs on the PCB layers. In the datasheet, the radiation pattern seems somewhat all directional. so if the antenna placed upside down, whether it can able to receive the GPS signal from the sky?

Hi Rahulraveendran,

Thanks for your question. The antenna has good 3D radiation as it uses the PCB ground planes to radiate, placing it on the underside of the PCB is fine.
Thanks
