QUESTION

asked by
Is there a minimum seperation required for main and diversity antennas used in CAT1 applications?
Main antenna is a PCB trace antenna (running vertically down from the top left hand side of the PCB).
Diversity antenna is SR4L034-L (running horizontally along the top of the PCB, left to right side).
My board width is ~73mm and there's not much space to fit it else where unless i start looking into LDS type solutions

Hi SMC0076,

It is best to start with 20mm separation between antennas and by placing them 90 degrees to each other you should see an improvement in isolation.  Ultimately you should have an isolation of better than -15dB and an ECC of better than 0.3.

Best regards,

Geoff S.
