QUESTION

Does adding FR4 clearance area on the top edge of the SR4C033-L antenna decrease performance ?
In your Datasheet for the SR4C033-L its stated that the Antenna should be placed so that the top and the left side are on the corner of the PCB. Is performance dramatically impacted if i add "clearance area" on the top edge of the Antenna so the PCB might fit better in an enclosure. I have the technical means to measure the antenna impedance so not beeing able to use the suggested matching network is no problem.

Hi Spule,

So long as the clearance area is free of copper at the top of the antenna you shouldn't see too much of a degradation in antenna performance.
