How close can I have the trace antenna to a ground plane?
I have a half-wave dipole antenna that is near a capacitive sense touch button. Would there be any interference between the two? How close can they be to each other?

Hello,

Yes, there will be interference between the two since the capacitive touch button is a metal conductor. Metal close to the antenna will reduce the bandwidth of the antenna and move the resonant frequency requiring the antenna to be tuned in the presence of the button.

We have two reflector antennas that are 1.6mm away from ground but these are single band resonant antennas that do not require a lot of bandwidth.
