LTE and GNSS antenna for a PCB 80x40mm
Hi, I’ve been looking at several antenna options and would like some feedback on what to expect in terms of performance.

The PCB size is about 80 × 40 mm (±2 mm).

For LTE, we’re considering the Inversa and Pharaoh antennas, but I haven’t been able to find performance data for different ground plane sizes. We mainly need support for the lower bands (B8, B18, B20), with additional support for higher bands (B1, B2, B3). So preference on high coverage and not so much data throughput

For GNSS, we only require L1 support.

Device will be a wearable where the GNSS will be on the top part of the PCB (short edge)

I've found the antenna placement tool, but is there any way to have an estimate on S11 with this ground plane?

Hi,

For that PCB size I would recommend the Pharaoh which will cover all the bands you need, an estimate of this antenna's efficiency should be on the datasheet for multiple ground plane sizes.

GNSS, I would recommend the Agosti which is a corner mount which can be placed on the opposite short edge of the PCB. This ground plane size will work fine for GNSS frequencies.

What about PCBs with rounded edges?
We have 2 design paths, either a 6mm filet on all PCB corners, or an extruded "island" on the short edge where the GNSS antenna would be (for SMD LEDs close to the case)

Another question, what is the Agosti vs Admotus?
