QUESTION

Signal degrades markedly when antenna surrounded by human hands
Hi. My customer uses Bluetooth chip antennas in the ten thousands. And we use Nordic nRF52xx chips. The typical application is gripped by human hands. IOW it is fully enclosed by lossy dielectric. The radiated signal falls markedly when gripped. Not sure if this is absorption or detuning, but I need advice on how to improve. Thanks!

Hi,

It is most likely detuning, but it maybe a combination of both. Our CeriiANT antennas can be quite resistant to detuning. We are always keen to engage with our customers as early as possible in their design process and also offer a free design review service to help you integrate our products to get the best possible performance.

Many Thanks

Steve
