Small form factor, deep indoor NB-IoT antenna
We're currently developing a product that requires deep-indoor penetration in a rather small form factor: PCB dimensions 30x50mm, Outer casing: +- 38x58x20mm.

The only contender we have currently selected is the SRFC011.
SMD options seem to require a ground plane that is too large for our application.

1. Could the SRFC011 be a good option for deep-indoor, usually basement level (-1) application?
2. Are there any SMD options that could fit the bill?

Unfortunately we do not have any surface mount antenna that will work well on such a small ground plane. If you want an internal antenna then the SRFC011 is your best option. The next best thing would be to place an antenna external to the device with a short 18 inch cable and mount it to something that is RF safe like plastic, wood or dry wall. One of our Draco antennas would work well in this case.
